Pulling Fibre
« on: June 30, 2011, 04:40:21 PM »

Gentlefolk,

You might be interested to read this article on how to deploy long lengths of fibre.
I wonder if this would be a new and exciting opportunity for RP ?
(I learnt to use climbers but they were always a bit uncomfortable especially on the knee joints.)

Kind regards,
Walter

Ha ha .... great photo's on the 2nd linky.

Walter, you say an "exciting opportunity for RP". Are you saying I resemble a horse ??? ;D Would we get away with this in our PC-correct country ?? Would the ALF not be up-in-arms about horses being abused, in order for corporate giants to get even richer ??

Of course, I'm saying it tongue-in-cheek, but a little tiny bit of me is thinking Hmmmmmm ?? ;D

@ RP,

I too have been thinking Hmmm.
Especially when you look at some VERY careful and VERY proper people here who strap the ladder to the pole, attach the secondary safety rope as well as their linesman's belt.
Or else, after a careful risk assessment, insist on a cherry picker and then possibly traffic lights around the vehicle if there is even the minutest possibility of pole movement.

Kind regards,
Walter
