Strolling along a grassy path between the forest and fields at 09.25 this morning we rounded a corner to meet a young Mr.Brock coming our way.

Rufus has never seen a badger before and the excitement was extreme . Although this was a youngster it was still bigger than him , fortunately Rufus obeyed when he was told to leave it alone otherwise we would be at the vets now.

What a wonderful encounter. You don't expect to see a badger in broad daylight. And you're quite right about Rufus - badgers do have sharp claws and teeth.

Two weeks ago there was one in our local deer park out in the day time, lots of sets around this way
But if they get in your garden you can say good bye to your lawn .
