That link isn't responding at the moment, but if you fancy spending the rest of your days investigating different distros, then Distrowatch is the place to go.

That's sure a long list of distributions etc. that they mirror, but the site was a bit unresponsive.
I noticed CPAN as the first item in the list. What an amazing resource it is for Perl users. I've used it a fair amount and am amazed by what's available.

My favourite mirror, which has less stuff, but has very friendly, and quick, browsing is: http://www.mirrorservice.org/sites/
And the most performance comes from: http://mirrors.vbi.vt.edu
I use one or t'other to keep my Slackware up-to-date, so no need to experiment with other distributions  :)

Cheers,
Peter

I notice it does not list Mageia (a derivative of Madriva). I have it installed and it seems good. Easy to use (when I get my PC working again, I'm using a W2K one right now which runs my weather stuff).

I've not tried that one yet, is it any good on old machines ?.
I have spent a lot of time in the last two weeks since PCLinux updated the Xorg video drivers trying to keep my P1,P3 and pent 4 old computers running while my daughters new'ish laptop had no problem with the new drivers.

Not sure since my PC was a Core-2-Duo but is in the progress of being upgraded to a Phenom x4 and both use at ATI HD4350 card which is fine with the latest proprietry drivers.
