My problem in doing these quizzes is that I've read everybody else's answers by the time I get through the thread.

Must remember to just take the questions out into Notepad first!

The status of Vatican City as a country is questionable, so the answer could be Monaco.

It's full of Cabury goodness
And lots of fun to eat.
A finger of Fudge is just enough
To give your kids a treat.

PS - it's actually quite interesting researching the answers. I won't post any, but I've been on a journey of discovery for the past 20 minutes.

Dave,

You'll be on 'a journey of discovery' in three weeks time.

We will find out how much the drivers on here still remember, on the journey into the Good Driver? Quiz.  :P

Ah, that's the trick - must admit I find the CA thread easier because you can hit the reply button and everything else is hidden - and yes, I take it away and work in Word usually as it's open anyway nore often than not!

If I look at any of the other answers first I feel like I've cheated!

A desktop shortcut to notepad is one thing I couldn't live without... it's indispensable for temporarily holding text for forum posts, etc.

Well done everyone, especially Kate for being the only one who got Maggie Thatcher right.
The white lines one gave you something to think about, and as almost everyone put cats-eyes does anyone know who invented them?
As the story goes, the cat was walking by the side of the road and the chap's bike lamp reflected in its eyes. Just think, if the cat had been walking the other way we would have rows of pencil sharpeners down the middle of the motorways.

It was Percy Shaw... apparently he got the idea when he realised he used to navigate by watching for the reflections of his headlamps off the tram lines.

>> The white lines one gave you something to think about, and as almost everyone put cats-eyes does anyone know who invented them

Just done a bit of googling - apparently theres 2 trains of thoughts

1- Headlamps off the tram lines
2- Shaw seeing the light bouncing back from a cats eyes at the side of the road.

I like the cat at the side of the road theory (well I would - wouldnt I) Just think if it had been a fox or a badger or something - then would they be called "fox eyes"  :D

What I didnt know is that one the major things about his patent was that they are "self cleaning". eg the glass beads are brushed against their housing and washed with rain water when a car runs over them.
