BT Business Hub - RouterStats (full version)
« on: March 16, 2011, 10:08:36 AM »

Hi all,

I've been using RouterStats (full version) for many years with Netgear DG834G V3/V4 Routers but recently changed to a BT Business Hub. What a difference this has made - Sync Rate up from 678 (average) to 864 Kbps  and is now steady as a rock.  :)

Unfortunaley I can't seem to get RouterStats to work with it (other than the lite version) but feel, if I could, then I would be able to push up the sync rate even further (using Auto Reboot to reboot the Router when the SNR reached 7 - which it gets to for a brief time every morning).

Any help would be greafully appreciated.

Cheers, Barrie

You can get RS to work with the 2700HGV using the manual setup method; this involves first finding out the URL of the stats page and entering it in the RS setup, then going to the tab in the setup where you select the relevant parts of the stats and link them to the appropriate characteristics. The procedure is described in the help pages.

@Roseway,

Regretfully, I've already tried that but can't get it to configure for the 2700 HGV. I tell it the address of the stats page. Mark the relevent Tx and Rx settings and apply them. Then I press the test button and Routersats informs me that either the Login name or password is wrong. Routerstats then hangs solid. The password is correct and there is no login name (as far as I know). I've checked the box in RouterStats to indicate there is no login name.

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Did you ask John about this over on the RouterStats forum? He has always been very responsive to my queries.

Unfortunately I can't remember if/how I used RouterStats with my, now deceased, 2700HGV.

Cheers,
Peter

On my 2700HGV the login name is 'admin' but I really don't remember now if I changed it.

@Geep. Thanks for that suggestion - I've now posted on the RouterStats Forum.

@Rosway. Thanks, you are indeed right. I can now get RouterStats to record SNR and Sync rate but still cannot get Routerstats to reboot the Router. Perhaps its not possible :'(

Again Thanks both

cannot get Routerstats to reboot the Router

I imagine that RS needs a telnet interface to do this, and the 2700HGV doesn't have any documented telnet access.

Also perhaps is the reboot process.

When using the 2700 standard web interface you have to go towards a reset page, enter the modem's password to bring up the page and then select the type of reset you require.

Kind regards,
Walter
