BT Business Hub 240 Network Upgrade
« on: March 15, 2011, 04:42:53 PM »

I've been asked to improve WIFI connectivity in a 15 room, 4 story hotel. They have a BT Business 2MB ADSL2 line connected to a BT 240 Business Hub. This is cabled to a Sitecom 4 port switch/hub on the 2nd floor. They have a Belkin Range Extender connected to the switch and a network cable routed to the 4th floor connected to another Belkin WIFI Range Extender. The obvious problems are WIFI black spots and dropped connections, especially with macs.  If anyone has any solid knowledge regarding upgrading to a BT compatible N+ Router and reliable access points (extenders) to increase WIFI range and signal strengh including a good solid, fast switch/hub. i've been looking at Cisco products as I know Belkin are pretty unreliable.

Any help and advice would be much appreciated  :)

Cheers

Hello rupes, and welcome to the Forum.  :)

An expert on the subject will be along soon to assist.
In the meantime I have removed your duplicate post................... one will suffice.  ;D

No expert here but you will have to use extenders although the ones in link are wireless in a commercial environment wired would be best and that could be a big job.
