DGN2000 or DGN2200
« on: January 09, 2011, 06:51:41 PM »

Hi
I need to buy new ADSL router. Right now I'm using Pentagram P6331-42.
It was ok but when I change speed to 20Mb it's start playing up with me.
Now I'm thinking about DGN2000 or  DGN2200 cos my line isn't to good.
I've got 8 PC connected to it.

I know there is no DGTeam software for DGN2200.
Can anybody tell me what extra things are in DGTeam FW??

Hi and welcome,

The DGTeam firmware provides an enormous quantity of extra features, most of which can in any case be accessed directly from the telnet interface, although the DGTeam GUI makes it much easier. I don't know of a full description of the features, but here's a rather old message I posted some time ago which will give you a flavour of what it does: http://forum.kitz.co.uk/index.php/topic,2418.msg72776.html#msg72776

I rather suspect that most people use it just for the noise margin tweaking capability.

Basicly I can do everything thru telnet, so if i setup snr for 50% router will save this permamently??  or every reboot I need to set it up again??

No, that's one thing which the DGTeam firmware improves - it survives a reboot, but if you do it in telnet it doesn't survive a reboot.
