PMs - Nofications and email
« on: September 05, 2007, 07:07:21 PM »

Just a reminder to this post here.

Another thing to be aware of is if you get a PM notification in your mail, you need to log into the forum to respond to the PM and send a reply through there.  Replying directly to the PM notification does go any where - only the unmonitored address

If you get a notification to a PM - please do not respond to that PM by email because your email will go to the unmonitored forum mail address.
You need to log into the forums to send a PM back.

Heed the notice at the top which says

"IMPORTANT: Remember, this is just a notification. Please do not reply to this email."

Reason I mention this is that Ive just noticed today that a couple of people have been responding to PMs via mail which then go the forum mail address which isnt monitored.
Ive also just noticed that some of these "replies" go back several months.

As an example of this - Imagine getting an email notification of a PM in your mail

You have just been sent a personal message by "hotstuff"on the Kitz Forum.

IMPORTANT: Remember, this is just a notification. Please do not reply to this email.

The message they sent you was:

Hi there
I love your av
Is that you?

Reply to this Personal Message here: http://forum.kitz.co.uk/index.php?action=pm

If you reply by mail rather than going to your PM box.

Be warned - that although its generally unmonitored and I wont see it..  there could be the chance that I do.

This does NOT apply if you have properly logged into the forums to send a reply to a PM.
