Need help about Netgear router not working.
« on: December 31, 2010, 08:56:09 PM »

Router=Netgear DG834Gv4 on Windows 7

This router has developed a problem.The power light flashes green,and so does the internet light.No other lights flash.The Router
doesnt appear to be sending a wireless signal,as the Laptop cant find it.

On pressing the reset button,the power light flashes red and green.

I have done a bit of research and people think that this is caused by the plug in PSU.They say that if they use a different one,
the unit works OK.The number is 332-10036-01.

Im wondering if this is correct,and how I go about finding a different PSU that will work on this model-as Im not wanting the same
type that is supposed to be for this Router.

Netgear routers all use a 12V dc power supply, and in the router power supply connector the inner terminal is positive and the outer part negative. Something like this would be fine (just as an example).

Happy New Year Roseway.

Ive just quickly stuck a PSU from a Smartaxmt882 wired router on it,and the power light is constant green and the wireless light is on-so I'll
nip down to the mother in laws and see if it works there.

cheers
