BT Openreach delaying tactics
« on: November 21, 2010, 10:23:29 AM »

Gentlefolk,

I'm posting this here in the hopes that somebody within BT can observe that their delaying tactics are unacceptable and that a change in their procedures is necessary.

We are encouraged by most ISPs to report a phone fault on a BT supplied line if there is any noise present.
This I have done recently, but after two site visits where BT admit their lines are of poor quality, BT themselves reported that no fault could be found and that their voice tests passed. I attempted to clear down the fault on-line on Friday afternoon.
Yet on Sunday morning the BT database hasn't yet been updated (They do say it can take UP TO 72 HOURS to clear the fault !!!) .
In the meantime BT will not accept a new broadband fault whilst an existing fault is open, so everyone is waiting upon the generosity of BT's arcane systems.

Kind regards,
Walter
