DGTeam dead?
« on: October 30, 2010, 08:39:47 AM »

Are DGTeam now finished? When ever i check their website there was a message saying "Nobody in the stadium", and now it has all been replaced with a single page and the message "It will be rare to see another".

http://dgteam.netsons.org/

If so, where does this leave custom firmwares? I found the DGTeam software hugely superior to the Netgear ones with great performance gains. Do we now go back to the poor manufacturer ones which are not kept up to date even on current models?

I've been expecting this for a long time. For several months it's been impossible for new members to join the forum, and I've had to disappoint numerous people asking me for an invite which I haven't been able to provide. They still appear to be accepting donations, so maybe they're accessible only to people who pay - I really have no idea.

Hi

It seems that even original users are no longer able to log in to the forum . I tried http://dgteam.ilbello.com/forum/index.php and got the message that the ID did not exist ?

I just clicked on that link and it took me to a login screen, but nothing happened when I tried to log in.

Looks like the party is over.

The cached pages on Google do not give any indication of anything. My login still works, but all the forums are gone. Still on the caches though.

Thanks for the Heads-Up.

I had been meaning to download the latest firmware but had not got round to it.

Luckily it's still available on the mirrors which I reached via the Google-cached version. I grabbed my copy :-)

Shame that it all seems to have died.

I have downloaded them all just in case anybody needs them. I no longer do as just gone onto FTTC.

The worst thing is that it went belly up without warning.

My one hope is that the DGTeam will be willing to pass their source code to any 'rescue' group that's set up.

I found and installed their excellent Firmware a couple weeks ago, so I guess I was lucky to download it.
It's too be bad if they just disappeared, because their FW is really nice.
I just don't know how to execute a script automatically when the router starts, and I got no answer to my post in this forum. If anyone has a clue, please let me know...

Depends which model router you have, and thus which DGTeam firmware version.  DGTeam 1018 (at least on my DG834GT) has a Custom Setup menu entry (bottom of the left hand pane) which allows one to specify a boot script.  But DGTeam 0849 (on my DG834G v1) doesn't have that menu entry.

Not at the moment. The developer does not like the firmwares being distributed any other way except from the web site. I got into trouble for doing so and gave my undertaking that I would not. When I am 110% sure that DGTeam is no more I will. HOWEVER, the firmwares are still available if you Google for the DGteam site, go to the cached pages, and the d/l links still work.
