What might be causing this ?
« on: October 18, 2010, 05:49:37 AM »

All these are stats taken in space of 30 seconds. Also I'm on a 1Mbps profile.

I have asked for that package. Not the regular one.

Actually my downstream attenuation is even better http://img524.imageshack.us/i/50810192122adsl2plus291.jpg/

There's something very wrong with your connection. Before you do anything else you need to make sure that your own setup is in good order. Have a read of the troubleshooting guide and see if  your wiring is causing the problem.

Start from basics like Roseway said.

First thing I would do is phone 17070 and select option 2 and listen for noise.

If you hear noise plug a very basic (Argos Value Range Corded Telephone. £3.99 ) known working phone into the test socket and do test two again.

If you still had noise report a voice line fault, do not mention anything about broadband.

It is possible that yousaf465 is not in the UK.
Perhaps he could clarify?

I think it would be better to wait for any further comment from yousaf465.

yeah I'm from Pakistan, but I think suggestions will do help. It's connected to the main socket, through a ADSL filter.

Now I have these values

Quote
Connection Status       Connected
Us Rate (Kbps)       508
Ds Rate (Kbps)       1019
US Margin       12
DS Margin       14
Trained Modulation       ADSL_2plus
LOS Errors       0
DS Line Attenuation       32
US Line Attenuation       19
Peak Cell Rate       1198 cells per sec
CRC Rx Fast       0
CRC Tx Fast       0
CRC Rx Interleaved       215
CRC Tx Interleaved       99
Path Mode       Interleaved

Then I somehow it was improved to this

Quote
Connection Status       Connected
Us Rate (Kbps)       508
Ds Rate (Kbps)       1019
US Margin       19
DS Margin       [28]
Trained Modulation       ADSL_2plus
LOS Errors       0
DS Line Attenuation       31
US Line Attenuation       17
Peak Cell Rate       1198 cells per sec
CRC Rx Fast       0
CRC Tx Fast       0
CRC Rx Interleaved       0
CRC Tx Interleaved       0
Path Mode       Interleaved

Even it was fluctuating

Quote
Connection Status       Connected
Us Rate (Kbps)       508
Ds Rate (Kbps)       1019
US Margin       19
DS Margin       25
Trained Modulation       ADSL_2plus
LOS Errors       0
DS Line Attenuation       31
US Line Attenuation       17
Peak Cell Rate       1198 cells per sec
CRC Rx Fast       0
CRC Tx Fast       0
CRC Rx Interleaved       0
CRC Tx Interleaved       0

Quote
Connection Status       Connected
Us Rate (Kbps)       508
Ds Rate (Kbps)       1019
US Margin       21
DS Margin       22
Trained Modulation       ADSL_2plus
LOS Errors       0
DS Line Attenuation       29
US Line Attenuation       17
Peak Cell Rate       1198 cells per sec
CRC Rx Fast       0
CRC Tx Fast       0
CRC Rx Interleaved       0
CRC Tx Interleaved       0
Path Mode       Interleaved

And finally after a visit to Phone company's office I got this

Quote
Connection Status       Connected
Us Rate (Kbps)       391
Ds Rate (Kbps)       1019
US Margin       6
DS Margin       9
Trained Modulation       ADSL_2plus
LOS Errors       0
DS Line Attenuation       33
US Line Attenuation       20
Peak Cell Rate       922 cells per sec
CRC Rx Fast       0
CRC Tx Fast       0
CRC Rx Interleaved       2
CRC Tx Interleaved       90
Path Mode       Interleaved

Yeah, I went through that information, that is why I tried this site. You guys might be helpful with it.

Although we do ahve little community of our own here http://www.wiredpakistan.com/forums/viewforum.php?id=12 but usual solution is change of pair which is bit difficult job.

There is obviously some deterioration on the line... which may even be caused by REIN.

Im not sure if routerstats will work with your router, but it may be worth closely monitoring your stats for a while if you can.

The normal course of events would be check your own wiring as per the troubleshooting guide.  Check to see if your (voice) phone line is noisy.  In the UK there are two paths to take.
1)  Your TelCo if the line is noisy.
2)  Your ISP if its something like REIN which is causing the problem.

Changing the pair is something that can only be done by the TelCo engineers, but more often they find a physical fault on the line first which is repaired. The most common being something like an oxydised joint.

Yeah yesterday I did try routerstat. Hopefully I will get a ZTE ZXDSL 831-CII in a day or two, routerstats lite is know to work with it.

I think Aztech 605EU has a Texas Instruments AR7 chipset. Texas Instruments  is also mentioned in it's USB drivers. Windows 7 drivers call it T1 USB remote NDIS network Device.

And what is LOS errors I frequently get a 201 of those.

Although router stats isn't working until now but this the noise in the phone line, when it's syncing with DSLAM http://www.plunder.com/Noise-while-connecting-download-29d758b42e.htm

LOS is
Quote
LOS - Loss of Signal

An alarm state process, different routers may have different alarm periods. A typical alarm integration period may be 2.5 seconds with a 10 second deactivation period.

A LOS defect may initially be triggered when all zeros are received for 20 microseconds which starts the integration period. During the integration period, 2 consecutive frames with 20 microseconds of signal loss will record a LOS event.
The LOS alarm will clear when no LOS defects are detected within the deactivation period.

A couple or so LOS events may go totally un-noticed during bursty activity such as web-browsing etc. The connection should be able to cope with this momentary loss of signal with the exchange, however a high level indicates a noise problem.

Some users have observed that 4 LOF events can trigger a LOS.
