Wednesday 22 chat
« on: September 22, 2010, 07:26:03 AM »

Good morning, and I hope all are fighting fit and ready for the travails of the day.  ;D

:rain: so indoor pottering is the order of the day.....and writing out huge posts to replace the one I have lost... :-[

I gave up on this machine yesterday at or about 1530 ........the whole internet seemed to grind to a halt. Taking over seven minutes to download a short little email, dozens of "server not found" errors.......Kitz and all other sites simply not able to be accessed, could not update av definitions etc. etc.
Don't know where the problem was, but it was all very frustrating.
Did anyone else notice similar events ?
All seems back to normal today..

Enjoy your day  :)

Good Morning Tuftedduck, had a lay in this morning not that it did any good.
Weather similar to yours although dry at the moment. I gather you are to produce a master class on photography. I look forward to reading that.
No surfing problems experienced on my connection so it must have been something on routing. Glad it's back now.

Pottering is on the agenda as I don't have anything planned. I'm starting to feel guilty about not starting another major project, but I keep saying tomorrow will do fine.  ???

Have a good day everyone.

The internet was ok for me yesterday up till I closed down around 7pm

A bit of garden tidying today, bagging up a lot of spent bedding plants etc.

Have a nice day whatever you have planned  :)

Good morning to you Colin as well.  :)

I'm back... ;D

Ah well, my internet failure yesterday was perhaps down to the dreaded Virgin Media.

@ ss44, no not trying to produce masterclasses....just trying to be of help.  :)

Morning everyone

I wanted to sleep in this morning, a rarity if I do but woke at 5 a.m. that was about 4 hours sleep  :( but I had set the alarm for 5.30 anyway as the fridge due to be delivered from 7 til 2 pm  :o  Phone call at 7 and fridge here by 7.20...now that's not bad.  Trouble is I will be flagging this afternoon and I have to go out lol....

Was very warm here yesterday and more forecast for today....our summer hasn't quite disappeared yet however tomorrow and Friday's forecasts not so good but hey ho....it's nearly the end of September  :o

@ TD didn't have probs with tinternet as I was only on it first thing yesterday...but it does happen like that at times and how annoying it is.  EDIT:  I posted at same time as you TD....I see it was your ISP with probs then....let's hope all will be well from now on......

Hope everyone has a good day today with pottering indoors or out...and I hope the weather doesn't spoil it too much whatever you're planning.

Good morning all :)

It's a lovely warm day here, but rain expected tomorrow.

Chrissie, I hope the new fridge is all you expect of it. :fingers:

TD (and anyone else), you can see a list of major BT network outages here. I appreciate that it's not much help if you can't get on the internet, but it can sometimes explain what happened after the event, so to speak. :)

We're off to Rochester this afternoon, just for a wander around that rather pleasant old town. I should really be cutting my remaining hedge, but i confess that the trip out has more attraction. ;D

Enjoy your day everyone. :)

The trip to Rochester sounds interesting Eric  ...   didn't Dickens live near there at some time....   I know you wouldn't have met him   but   .....

Would that be the same Merry Dickens that my mother used to talk about? They didn't swear much in them days, least not in front of the children.

What the Dickens? :)

Dickens lived for 5 years in the Medway area, and Satis House in Great Expectations was a house in Rochester. They have an annual Dickens festival.
