And apparently they're doing new line installs for £85.

You don't get to see that until you get into the ordering page.

And also they are now able to take over LLU home phone lines(ie TalkTalk) for a cost of £45.

I made enquiries about this a few months ago for my sister and they wasn't able to do it then, but after just speaking to them, they can from today.

I believe that the 20 GB cap on the Basic package is not going to be extended to the equivalant package on the legacy packages (I'm on the equivalent package on O2 Standard at £12.50 a month)

If so then I would be worse off as I'm on an unlimited package at the moment subject to a FUP.

I do like the idea of just paying line rental at £7.50 and then paying for calls if you are a light user but I don't know if there would be any pitfalls in changing to this in the future if I was using the phone less ?

Thanks for that UncleUB, this sort of thing had to come eventually. To be honest it won't effect my usage and most other responsible users either. It's about time the gate was brought down on the yobs who abuse the light handedness that O2 has shown. They are in business and cannot go on supporting a free for all and stay in business. Rant over.

There's a thread going on the O2 forum questioning their use of "kb/s" and "Mb/s".

Is it bits or bytes ?......the jury is still out

I totally agree SS44,

I personally do very little downloading,no p2p or online gaming.I'm not against people pursuing these activities, but they have got to pay the correct amount for doing so and there has also has to be restrictions in place, otherwise the internet would grind to a halt.
What would happen if everyone decided to download movies, use p2p etc all at the same time.
