Copy video files.
« on: August 12, 2007, 07:26:39 PM »

I want to send some video files (avi) to a friend  but Windows will not copy to a DVD. It will copy to an ordinary CD but since I have about 12 files totalling about 4Gb the normal 700 Mb CD is not really an option. Any ideas or suggestions please.
Sorry if this is in the wrong section, could not decide where else it shoud be.

I've had a look at those links but it's not what I really what I am after. I want to keep the file as avi like it does when saving to an ordinary CD, and not convert it to DVD.

I guess you need a different burning program then. I don't use Windows myself, but there must be several programs which can burn DVDs.

But what puzzles me is why I cannot just drag and drop like I do with an ordinary CD?

Nero includes an option to make a data DVD. You should be able to just write the files to DVD in the same way as to CD. Avoid the options to create a music/video etc DVD, instead go for writing a data disk.

hi ralph

xp dosent have built in dvd drag-n-drop facilities, but vista does.

nero incd allows packet writing so u can drag-n-drop like a cd.

u could always download the evaluation copy of nero from aheads web site then create a data disk.

Kitz, HELP.

Sorry it's of-topic but.

I placed "7z442 - RAR Extractor" (without the quotes) in a internet search and it leads me strait to this post each time. Wierd or what!

Yes okay so above the search box it says "Find a Web page containing:" but no one here has mentioned it have they?
