You would think it would keep prices down with all the competition.

But when BT put prices up everyone else follows soon after.

I do think the Zen offer may attract some for the monthly contract.

Is this the first of many?

TalkTalk has followed rival BT by announcing price hikes for millions of landline customers this October.

O2's phone deals are even cheaper:

I've just left BT a few days ago due to them increasing their line rental by yet another 50p (it was only around 6 months since they increased it)

I've had enough !

But when BT put prices up everyone else follows soon after.
I hope that O2 don't follow suit as I've entered into a 12 month contract but even if they do then I will still be better off as I was paying BT £18.78 a month for their Anytime package and this doesn't include the 50p line rental hike in October !

Currently on O2's Anytime package I'm only paying £12.50 a month and, like BT's pricing, it also includes line rental.

Crikey my mother was with BT until a few days ago (like me) after I finally persuaded her to move from BT and she moved to Talk Talk and now they too are putting up their line rental  :(

Still even with the increase, she's still better off with Talk Talk  ;D
