which is better for gaming ?
« on: June 27, 2010, 05:24:18 PM »

My line is weak and my ISP is giving me 2 options that i must choose one of them: ( D / U )
1- PPPoA vux ADSL2+ ( 1927 / 945 ).
2- PPPoA vux ADSL2+ ( 2670 / 517 ).

So please advice me what to choose especially i mainly use my ISP for PS3 gaming.

Thanks

Hi

Speed is generally not thought to be critical with gaming but Latency can be a problem . See link below

http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/interleaving.htm

I would go for the lower DS speed with interleave off.

Can you post your line stats ,including errors etc as that will show if you are likely to be able to have interleave off .

Regards Jeff

As mentioned - need to see your linestats really.

Interesting options theyve given you.    It looks like they are taking from the upstream to give to the downstream.
It doesnt work like that as the upstream and downstream use different channels anyhow.

Its interleaving and error correction that they should be looking at... not capping the upstream  ???
