When I tried to do some posts this morning I got this

Not Acceptable

An appropriate representation of the requested resource /index.php could not be found on this server.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

It was just on one post.I typed a two line response and got the above message.I then removed the message and typed only one line and it posted

There doesn't seem to be a problem now. I'll have a poke around and see if I can see anything in the logs.

I have just tried edited the above message and got the same error,yet this has posted ok

Yes, there is something odd going on. When I tried to look at the forum error log I got a similar message to the one you posted above.

hmmmm  Ive been doing a night shift trying to do some updates on the site and came across something when trying to amend ISP pricing and it seems like my hosts have tightened security on the server.

Ive currently got an open ticket about the above, and I suspect they may be playing with permissions in order to resolve my problem.

The 406 Not acceptable message you saw definitely ties in with my ticket about 1/2 an hour ago

I am hoping that this is just temporary whilst they are making some changes in respect to my ticket, which was raised an non-urgent.

If I dont hear anything back and the problem persists, I'll phone them.

Placed a call..  but its gone thro to the ansa phone - so they must be busy.  I can still normally get someone even if its out of hours.

Fifa have refused to ban them say they are part of African culture

Nothing to do with the £2 million in sales 

Before when I tried to edit it to put a £ in front of 2 million I got that error message.

Sorry for the delay..   I had to get a few hours sleep... as Id been up for 24hrs and was just about dropping.

Are you guys still getting the same errors with posting?

Good detective work there phil - the £ could well have had something to do with it because the difficulties I was having was related to the ISP pricing.

I got a response back from vidahost at 07:57 and I literally must have just missed that by seconds, that it was probably related to a recently updated mod-security issue.   I still have the ticket outstanding in respect of something else..  but according to them most of it should now be sorted.

Let me know if there is anymore problems. They've applied a fix. 
Vidahost apply any server security fixes + mods/patches for the site and I strongly suspect this was related to a 'local issue' with some European characters.
