Adobe Flash Player
« on: May 31, 2010, 02:43:20 PM »

I've just tried to install Adobe Flash Player 10, it appears to download ok and says download successful, but will not run.

I looked in 'add and Remove' programmes and there it is but the right hand column showing the size is blank.

Trying to run the cricket from the BBC site but get told I need an upto date player (10) dpwnload from here and get the same result.

I've tried everything on Adobe's trouble shooting list but all to no avail.

Can anyone help please?

Sorry, but I've moved your message to the Windows section of the forum, as it appears to be Windows specific. The BBC cricket does display correctly here with Adobe Flash Player 10 (on Linux), so your problem is presumably either a bad download or something which went wrong with the installation, but I guess that isn't much help. :(

Peter, there are two versions of Adobe Flash Player.........because that plug-in is browser specific. There is one version for Internet Explorer and one for all the rest.

Which browser are you using, and have you downloaded the correct version of Flash ?

Thanks Roseway, I wasn't sure which section to post it.

tufftedduck, I'm sure I downloaded the correct version for Internet Explorer.

Thanks,

Did you remove the older version of Flash with the Flash Player Uninstaller first

I did remove the old Flash Player first as reccommended.

I have now found the downloads but they will not run as they require something called PF programme.

Eureka!!!

Fixed at last, all I had to do was download and run the Adobe uninstaller then re-download Flash Player! :-[

Thanks to everyone for your very useful input.

I uninstalled both the old flash players (Active-X IE and Plugin versions) then successfully installed the new ones.
