Hello, yesky, and welcome to the forum.

It would be an idea to start by posting your routerstats, guidance on how to do that at http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/frogstats.php

Also, if you could advise as to who is your ISP.

Sorry for that, I give the details now. This is first month I use BT business broadband. In the first 5 days after broadband go live, the speed of broadband can reach about 280KB/s. then very slow. After 10 days, I phone Bt to sovle this problem. After my call, the speed improved, download speed I use can reach 200kB/s. but 1 or 2 days later, the speed slow again. This things happen again and again. Later BT send an enginner to visit and do some test. The test rate of line is 1500- 2500 kbps. He said the line is fine. But the download speed is still slow. Now, Bt send another router to me but it is still slow and bt say there is no problem with bt, everything is Ok. They say it is my PC problem. I had use three Pc but the same slow.
Following is my routerstats.

IP Profile 500. You won't go faster than that.

The question is why?
Is your service limited or is it due to errors?
If errors it will (may?) improve over a  few days, give it 3 or 4 and check again....

Hi
quote
Rate:    1440 kbs    384 kbs

Noise Margin:    15.0 dB    6.0 dB

Attenuation:    53.6 dB    31.5 dB

The first thing to note is that your Synch rate is LOW  ,you should be able to connect at about 3900Kbps with the default 6db Target SNRM. Your Target SNRM appears to be 15 db ,that is why your synch rate is low.

The reason for this High SNRM can be one of two things .

1 your Target was raised because of line problems .
2 Because you are capped .

I am not familiar with your router  but the max rate is unusual  in that it shows the same as the actual rate .
quote Max Rate:    1440 kbs    384 kbs
Normally the max rate is higher than the actual because it is calculated on the default 6db margin .

quote Rate Cap:    1440 kbs
It seems you are capped at 1440Kbps

The throughput problem as HPsauce says is because of your low IP profile .
Are you still in training period ?

It may have been caused by low synch rate  connection within the last few days .
Have been losing synch or have you been switching the router on/ off  at frequent intervals .
Best leave router on for  a few days to give system chance to settle down.

I notice that you have a warning  in your stats
Quote Uncanceled Echo:    30.7 dB    Suspicious - check phone filters and alarm

Try to improve your connection Here .

I see that you have displayed your IP address . Probably best to not show  that .

Regards Jeff

Many thanks you reply my problem. I had try to use as less line as possible and now the down rate improve to 2176 which connect to master socket. But the speed and IP profile is the same before. there is no warning now because i had take off a adsl filter. I will left my router on from now on. the question  is now I want to ask is what I will need to do can improve my speed. how about the ip profile and Target SNRM? Do i need to contact BT to help solve the problem or not?

Do i need to contact BT to help solve the problem or not?
Not yet, not least because:
1. BT systems automatically adjust things over days (and weeks and months) so give it time
2. It's not clear whether you are on a capped/fixed rate service
3. The initial 10 days (or so) of connection are a "training" period

Please verify with your contract paperwork what service speed you are due; it looks like you MAY be on a limited 2mbps service.
Also, as noted above, leave your router on ALL THE TIME.
Finally, report back the conection speed and speed test results (including IP Profile) on a daily basis for the next week.

I am on bt business broadband option 2 unlimited and up to 20MB. it is nearly one month now. Yesterday, I redesign all the cable and use as less as possible cable and filter. That connection speed would explain the IP Profile.
Phone BT, you're paying them (not us  ;) )for business-grade support and presumably they supplied the router and filters.
If it turns out to be your wiring, alarm or similar you'll get a bill, but so be it, you're running a business and need it sorted.

 :-X
I had phoned them many times. the enginner had been here to test once. It said there is no problem. like the connection rate is fine. but the really speed is slow. they give me another router but no helpful. what connect to master socket is adsl filter, then direct connect to router and there is one phone and PDQ card machine connect to filter phone line port. that's it. Now they just say there is no problem about thier service. In fact, they try to find out the problem but it is still not working. Just say my computer problem.................

Your computer cannot cause the variation in connection speed.

Hi
Uncanceled Echo:    23.8 dB    Suspicious - check phone filters and alarm
DSL
Link Retrains:    6    6    3    0:05:36
DSL Training Errors:    6    6    1    0:05:19

The above seem to indicate you are losing synch. It seems that when you have a uncancelled echo warning this can cause the router to retrain ?
your latest up time is quite short indicating that your router is not keeping the connection.

are you still connected to the TEST socket ?
http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/socket.htm

Have you checked your internal wiring properly as Uncanceled Echo problems can be related to bad filters or missing filters .

with frequent disconnections you will not be able to attain the higher synch rates .
