CERN sets date for LHC to go to full power

The Large Hadron Collider has been running successfully for several days at half energy (3.5 TeV) which is already the highest energy yet achieved in a particle accelerator. Now, CERN has set a date of 30 March for the first attempts at full energy (7 TeV) collisions.

Very interesting Roseway, thank you. Fingers crossed eh! As long as the black holes don't escape.

I don't think we need worry about black holes. That suggestion was just a bit of tabloid media paranoia.

Yes I was reading about it the other day on a BBC page, good luck to them, it's all in the name of science.
I was involved with some worlds first when I was a scientist .
On full power it's only got the same amount of power as a mosquito flying.
