Linksys WAG54GS and tweaking SNR
« on: March 20, 2010, 11:09:58 PM »

Hi

I have a linksys WAG54GS modem router, and have been trying to adjust the SNR by either using DMT or directly with the adslctl command.  I find that once the command has been issued, the modem reconnects at a higher sync rate, but then immediately reconnects at its normal sync rate - this happens even for the most modest of changes of SNR.  Any ideas as to what's happening?

Many thanks

I'm not familiar with that router, and I haven't come across that problem with other Broadcom-based routers. The only thought which occurs is that maybe there's a 'saveall' command or something similar which has to be issued at the same time as the tweak (something like adslctl configure --snr 50; saveall )

but I admit that this is grasping at straws. :)
