I use a Speedtouch 585 v6 router (Demon ISP). I've just bought a Seagate Freeagent Dockstar, which is a Pogoplug Network Adaptor. Drives connected to the adaptor can be shared by PCs on the LAN, and also be enabled for access over the internet. The device, however, will not initialise. The router is allocating it an address, but the dockstar also needs to connect to the Seagate website, and receive back from the website. I think that the speedtouch needs to be configured so that the Dockstar can use UDP on port 4365. I have tried to set the router up for this through the "assign game ..." part of browser interface but it has made no difference. Perhaps it can be done by telnet. Things are complicated by the fact that I don't really know about networking, and the device - bought from Maplins - might actually be faulty. Has anyone any ideas about this ?
