Radio frequency 'tones' do not create audio tones to disrupt telephone conversations.

  POTS appliances (ie fax machines) will 'eat' (diminish) radio frequency tones if not blocked by a DSL filter.  Any filter between a home ADSL modem and IPS' DSLAM will only obstruct radio frequency tones. That modem must connect directly to the DSLAM.
