Replacing the Firmware on the BT HomeHub 2.0 Type A
« on: December 27, 2009, 09:37:27 PM »

I just came across the following link on the BT Forum:  http://www.psidoc.com/articles.php?article_id=2  I seem to recall a number of folks here were trying to find ways of replacing the HomeHub firmware and this claims to open it up for Telnet again!

Not straightforward, by any means - but if it actually works!

This topic seems to be gaining legs over recent days.  HomeHub users might want to be aware of some alleged security and privacy concerns - http://community.bt.com/t5/Broadband-in-the-home/Why-have-BT-put-a-backdoor-in-the-8-1-H-J-firmware-that-allows/td-p/620

Wild stab in the dark, BT might have solved the problem they had with their Remote Assistance facility and decided to reactivate it - http://www.thinkbroadband.com/news/3258-bt-to-close-remote-assistance-hole-on-home-hub.html

Hmm, that is rather interesting.  Thanks for pointing it out.
