Linux for beginners blog
« on: December 22, 2009, 07:22:12 PM »

I happened upon this today, and I thought it was a rather good introduction to Linux for non-geeks (and it may even fill in a few gaps for people with some experience of Linux).

yes, that's good, Roseway.  Thanks.
Also maybe of passing interest to Linux folk I have discovered that the Puppy Linux live Cd on a recent Linux Format appears to let you edit (using Geany) any of the other files anywhere on your PC. It mounts all the partitions and lets you cut and paste without any restriction. Very dangerous maybe but very useful. I had a disaster trying to use Grub2 recently and had to reinstall Legacy Grub and rewrite menu.lst when I found it most useful.
