Printing from PDF documents
« on: December 20, 2009, 01:06:36 PM »

I have Foxit reader    .....   I have just downloaded a PDF document and can read it on screen; however,  when I go to print,  on the preview all the diagrams are showing but the text isn't !  What am I doing wrong please or not doing at all, please  ?    I'm sure I've printed PDF's before but I've forgotten the procedure .

Are you sure the PDF is not copyright protected...some are.

Anyway, have a look in the print properties at the window shown in the attachment and make sure that you have it set to "print all" (for a single page document or "print current page" if required from a multi-page file) and not to "selected graphics" in the Print Range dialogue.. :)

In that case, you could take a screenshot of it, save as a jpg and then print.. :)

Another couple of options you could try is to.

1. With the document open, find and select the option to "Copy All" then paste it into a different document.

2. If you have any OCR software installed, then open the OCR software program and then select the pdf file to scan and save to a word document (or even as another pdf)

TD  you are my Oracle    :rose:     Merci  !    That has worked a dream  ...just 50   more pages to go

Ooooo red warning  .... Thanks for that OF ....   The problem with copying to another document type is that there are some illustrations  ...and then the writing is all over the place  !  but the OCR idea is a good one   ... for now I shall follow TD's advice as it has worked perfectly... :)

Not necessarily, but it can be a try it and see situation.
When doing this type of copy, I use either Textbridge or Abbyy Finereader

I think you can "cough" remove protection.

Maybe Google would help.
