At least he never got fibre to the home and is on a slow speed connection.

BT are they a comunications company?

These two links are interesting in that BT are now suggesting that Henley will be added to the FTTC Trials, but without any commitment to lay fibre to the Hambleden PCP cabinets. If that remains the case then Hambleden will have no broadband service except for Sir Michael. It must be doubly frustrating for the residents who appear to have funded their own solution but now with a hint that they might some time in the future have the competing "BT’s extra-fast fibre technology broadband" service.

If the Henley Standard is quoting the BT spokesperson accurately it might seem to some that they are exaggerating even more than Virgin Media did with their fibre / coaxial advertising which caused Ofcom to intervene.
