Facebook Changes privacy settings.
« on: December 10, 2009, 02:08:58 PM »

If you have facebook make sure you check your privacy settings.
One of the things I noticed this morning is that it had changed many settings I previously had set to private/friends only so that now was open to all and sundry.

There was a reason why I kept certain things such as my gender, birthday and posts on my wall for friends only.   I deliberately set them like that so I wasnt too happy at the popup this morning when I logged on it that told me I was now sharing this information to anyone.

I can go weeks/months without checking my FB so wonder how many other people wont be aware of these changes for a while.

I see the Beeb has now picked up on this too.

They have done this before, I guess when they make changes they can't keep individuals settings.

I dont believe that is the reason..  because if you do go through the guidance..  theres radio buttons for each section that allow you to revert back to your previous settings... therefore they must have that information stored somewhere already.

I clicked Skip to the popup does that mean I keep the old settings?

And somethings they won't let you hide now.

Has Facebook crashed?

Or could they be making more changes.

EDIT:

It has come back up now.
