There are a few, but no regular attenders. If you click on MEMBERS then SEARCH FOR MEMBERS you can find members under various criteria. Select 'Search by position' and enter 'ISP' in the box, and you'll get a list of ISP reps.

Its meant to be the comms team and theres a few of them with logins, but they seem to have tailed off their visits of late.... & iirc the the last Plusnet rep I saw logged in was Mark Kelly one day last week.

If you have a problem, then the best person to contact would probably be James Bailey or chris parr.

They can also be contacted on their own community forums.
If youre having no joy - then I can perhaps give someone a prod for you.

Plusnet are usually very open about their shaping and what it affects and when.
You can see what protocols are shaped during which hours from here

Which product did you go for?

unuseable connection

Is that unusable for all protocols.. or just say p2p/usenet?

i went for the unlimited package.

i checked that page about shaping at times of the day, thats why i rang them to confirm or deny this and they said that theres no shaping.

it seems to to be all protocols including http.  they specify that streaming is full-on all day and night but i cant even play a youtube vid.

my line speed is 5600 at the mo but everything is sloooooow.

nothing back from james yet.

http shouldnt be throttled.. and should be line speed.
Thats aside from the fact that unlimited is meant to be that.  There most definitely is traffic shaping on p2p type stuff though during peak hours.  Off peak (midnight to mid-day) should be at full line speed even for p2p though.

Just a thought - have you tried doing a reconnect.  They lit a couple of new segments last week and some of their centrals were a bit unbalanced.  See if you can get on another central.  I know there has been problems particularly on pcl-ag03 as theres been a SS about it.

OK I'll try that later.

I tried a torrent this morning at 6:30 and the speed was between .25mb and 2mb.  Don't usually get so much varience when connecting to 50+ seeds.

Thanks Unc for the contact.

Hi Pwiggler,

If you drop me a PM with your username on it I'll take a look at your account and give you a ring, if that's alright?

Cheers,

Matt

*EDIT: Scratch that, I've found the account. I've tried calling but can't get hold of you at the moment, if you let me know a good time I'll give you a ring then. Hope that helps, and sorry for the hassle.

Hi

That seems to be quite a drop in your synch rate . Keep an eye on your stats .Has your target SNR increased ?
