There is a lady in the village who is on a BT package of some sort and who maintains against all advice to the contrary that she enjoys a downstream of 100mbs...... :-X

Calm yourself TD, there's nothing in your stats to be concerned about. I'm sure that Uncy is teasing you. ;D

You're connecting at the maximum speed for both upstream and downstream, so the noise margin isn't an issue so long as it doesn't drop too low.

The thing that is puzzling me is that the mail seemed to imply that there could be a new training period... which is what suggests some sort of BTw product change.

From what TDs said so far,  it looks unlikely that it will be LLU or 21CN.

@ TD

next time you see your local OR guy, you could ask him if hes noticed any new DSLAMs or MSANs going into the exchange - They are quite large - so if he has a look at the exchange adsl equipment they should be easy enough to spot.

The only other thought that I can possibly think is due to the state of Virgins BAMs I wonder if they are so desperate that they would go back to using datastream again.  I know they (& several other ISPs) did this a few years back mostly via tiscali ..  but didnt think theyd done so for a while as its classed as a bit old hat when theres so much LLU about now.

I have access to a wee bit more info than I output via the checker..  If you'd like to PM me your phone no and post code - I can check your exchange for datastream.
Failing that - I havent got the foggiest what it can all be about.  ???

Thank you for you continuing interest and your comments.

I am beginning to be of the opinion that this is an "adjustment" of some sort at and by Virgin alone.........I have been asking around other BB users in the village, and none of them have had such a notification from their respective ISPs........ ???......and yet, as you say, an implied training period would indicate otherwise

Will speak to the OR guy again...his problem is that despite living here, this is not his "patch"....he does his thing in the town 6 miles away and anything to be done here......another OR guy comes out from that town.
Still, he must of heard something if there are to be changes in the exchange.

Have sent a PM with my phone/postcodes numbers...thank you.
