I had a warning last week when I opened Firefox after doing a windows update...  saying that it had blocked the above and M$ .Net Framework.

I was like WTF?
afaik.. the M$ update I installed was meant to be a security patch..  so why block it now?    ???

hmmmm....  actually just found this

Firefox Locks Out Microsoft's App Dev Tech

Quote
One add-on, the Windows Presentation Foundation, aids programmers in developing applications using Microsoft technologies, including Silverlight, that can be accessed via a browser. It remains blocked, but Mozilla Vice President of Engineering Mike Shaver wrote in a blog posting on Sunday that the Firefox team is working to find an alternative.

...../snip/ ....

While it appears that Mozilla initially overreacted in blocking the .Net Framework assistant, which is necessary for many third-party applications to run, it restored access to the plug-in quickly.

Quote
One issue was that Mozilla's add-on blocking technology couldn't tell if people had patched their software and so weren't vulnerable anymore. "We can't distinguish patched from unpatched, so we're blocking it while we sort that out,"

Mine was patched yet FF still decided to block it.
Not sure now how I can unblock it, or even check.... because its no longer listed in the add ons/plugins.
