Hi Gordon, and welcome,

I don't use Windows, so I can't really answer, but are you sure you're looking in the right place for the download? By default I believe that downloads go to your desktop, but perhaps it's being saved somewhere else? Sorry, not much help I know.

Hi Gordon

From what you say it seems to download, but just doesnt install.  Depending on your browser, then the Flash player is a plugin that should install direct into your browser.  Which browser do you use?

Also is it possible that the download and installation could have occured, but there is something blocking you in your security set up which stops use of the flash player?

The best place to download the player from is
http://www.adobe.com/shockwave/download/index.cgi?P1_Prod_Version=ShockwaveFlash

During the install IE should give you a warning yellow bar which you click to install direct to the browser.
If you're installing to another browser such as Opera then the download should go to your desktop and you have to manually start the install by clicking on it.

On the adobe site theres a few tips if you are having problems with installation, do any of these symptoms seem  similar?

To Roseway & Kitz I am sorted, I was under the impression this sofware downloaded direcrt to my browser which was not the case, I followed Rosway's advice and did a search, found it and successfully installed, very many thanks for your prompt response.
