The wireless function must be disabled as the light on the router is yellow not green.

I have phoned O2 and was told to leave the password blank, this lets O2 access my router if something is wrong.I am getting a bit confused now?

How can I enter the old password if I don't know what it is(the box is just blank).

I seem to be getting a lot of FEC downstream errors,is that a problem.

I also note that I am ADSL2+

..  and that is the problem..   its blank as a password has not been set... and therefore could also allow anyone else to access it if they try!
If the password is blank, just press the enter key.

Ive just tried quickly  to see if I can access you remotely, but luckily it looks like http + telnet are disabled from the WAN side
(in fact youre not responding to ICMP either).
That doesnt mean you shouldnt change the password though

You could also go somewhere like grc.com and do a shields up test, just to double check if anything is open.

Dont worry about those atm..   they are showing that interleaving (and error correction) is working as it should.
Its the CRCs that you dont want to start racking up

I notice theres a little bit of SNRM fluctuation, but nothing drastic.
Probably the real test will come this evening, when SNR normally starts to dip.

Yes you are and for the 1 hour+ uptime it's looking pretty good for a 67dB line !

O2 will be tweaking the connection for a couple of days so don't do anything with the router. You'll get a text or email to say the testing is complete and you're on the correct package.

Still seems ok,although the snr has dropped a bit.Why does the output power keep altering?

I did expect it with my line length, will just have to monitor it.Would it be better being taken off ADSL+2 and put back onto just ADSL?

Small fluctuations in output power is normal.
Unless your line isnt working to its full potential - say for eg you live very close to the exchange and youre on 8Mb - the downstream power is usually  around 17 to 19.8 dBm.

When you first sync up it will normally be somewhere around 18dBm.   If your line starts to struggle a little the dslam/router can in effect 'turn up the gain' and you will see the output power increase slightly.
Conversely if you sync up and later on your SNR greatly increases, then it may turn the power down a wee bit to stop the signal drowning out other lines and causing crosstalk.

I don't think so. For one you'll be enjoying a higher upstream sync rate on ADSL2+, and theoretically, ADSL2+ should reach slightly further than ADSL at extreme line lengths, due to the differences in way the two work.

How does O2 compare to BT then?

Brilliant(up to press).O2 support is excellent compared to BT's pathetic Indian support.

Another question,

Since the re sync yesterday,my snr  is 5.5 up and 7 down.I have now noticed the errors don't seem to be racking up as fast. Will O2 have adjusted my snr to make my connection more stable.?

That would have been the modem. The higher the speed the more errors that can be seen. My line is the same at home. I can push 7.2mb but the errors kill it, or i can sit at 5-5.6 and it sits well.

The modem will adjust itself depending on the line conditions, and what you tell it to do (if you are using the DMT Tool)
