The majority of them are easily replaced from the front and only involve removing that cover.  DO make sure the power is off at the cooker control or back at the fuse panel.  Don't wish Sue to have a blue flash moment!  :o

Partsmaster are always OTT on price and the one you have sourced locally will be from the same original source probably - they are a common part used by many manufacturers.

Happy cooking!

Just a bit more on the element replacement, I would think that once you have undone the self tapping screws that hold the element in place, pull it out and you should see the wires which should have spade connectors, pull them off (noting there place).
Then just replace with new element, making sure you do not trap the wires when you replace it.

Good luck.

Hi,

We got a new part and Sue replaced it,switch the poweron and it worked......

The only problem is that when the power to the oven was turned back on the little orange light stating the oven was on was lit before the oven was switched on.

Then as soon as you turn the oven on the light goes off.The oven then starts to get hot,but then is not cutting outting outonce it reaches the  desired temperature.
What should happen is once the oven is switched on the oven light comes on and the goes out when the oven reaches the set temperature.
It is though the sequence is happening in reverse.
Could the connectors have been put back wrong(earth Live and neutral).

Yes, I think that's the most likely explanation. Without seeing a wiring diagram it's difficult to see where the mistake was, but I would say that the oven is in a possibly dangerous state and shouldn't be used until the mistake is corrected. You could check that the connectors have been put back in the same positions as before, but if the mistake isn't obvious I think you ought to get your friendly electrician to look at it.

Thanks Eric, she was cetain that they wer put back in the correct order. When the power was switched back on everything was fine and no fuses were blown.
Just to be on the safe side we have contacted an electrian who said it could be the thermostat. He is coming wednesday to have a look.

Scottish Power update.

As you know I left Scottish Power a few weeks back, after a lot of messing about I received 3 refund cheques.

Yesterday I got a final bill for......£1.12  :o

So today I have just been online@SP to pay it...........The bill online is for ........£1.04  ???

It says on the bill it will be debited by DD on the 16 Nov.........but I cancelled them weeks ago. :)

Looks like a phone call later.............
