A couple of quick questions please. I am using a DG834GT [ex Sky & many thanks for the tutorial]

1. Tweaking the downstream SNR. Presumably this is a local tweak ie if I remove the DG834GT and substitute my other router [ST585v6], the SNR adjustment will be removed.

2. No reason why Routerstats should not work with the DGTeam firmware.

Apologies for asking silly questions.

Yes  if you change routers then tweak has gone
Yes routerstats will work with dgteam you have to tell it during set up

First timer with routerstats and obviously falling at 1st hurdle.

If you have seccy could you tell me what is required at set up or post link.

I copied v5.6e .exe into a folder at root. Opened the exe file and a box opens asking for the password which I enter. Is there anything at that stage that needs modding.

with Netgear there is very little to do except to enter the password  as the application is mostly defaulted to the correct settings .

in router login  make sure you have selected  dg834GT .

in router search text "get page " confirm its ok

in Graphs  can play with those later .

in System   Tick "start  sample timer automatically"  others are defaults  .

in Log   and Email leave those till later .

in Telnet  make sure Enable  Netgear g834 (g Gt) is ticked .

      in        netgear version   check  broadcom is ticket

and   tick Router uses DGTEAM Firmware

click   APPLY and Save
