gaming through a proxy
« on: August 14, 2009, 01:20:39 PM »

Hi folks

I am after some info on how to achive this really and were or not it's possible

ok I will explaine a little of what I know about it so far correct me if I am wrong, the game I play allows you to play through a proxy server so I have to config the game I play to tell it to use any free proxy online which I have set up correctly ip,port, username, password etc  now the game connects but theres a problem as the proxy server must be blocking the ports I want to use that is a big problem as I can not config the proxy (and it's not a option)

now I can sort of guess what you mite think here, a proxy server will have terrible lag higher ping etc unstable connection which I know but wanted to see for myself to see what it was like and to see if it worked .... which takes me to my next part.

Of maybe making a proxy to redicect the traffic on my internal lan << is this possible ???
the reason why would be to make the data send to the gaming server more secure and also to have a good flow of packets.

if someone could give me some info or input plz ...

cheers
in advance
Alan.
