I`m glad you`ve bought the Canon...

You now have a few extra advantages over other makes...."CHDK"..

I have CHDK auto starting on my A530, so I can take raw photos & for the other additional benefits, its non distructive & won`t invalidate your warranty AFAIK, it resides on your memory card.

Well worth a look & read, one of the best pieces of free software out in Internet land.

Filters....Seems Canon say you can`t fit filters to either the SX1 or SX10, well?

Might be worth grabbing a cheapo UV from 7 day shop & trying it, its gotta be worth speculating a fiver just to protect the lense.
