internet light..
« on: June 07, 2009, 06:25:48 PM »

i've give up on the thomson router and gone back to my netgear,i don't know if this is the norm on wireless routers, but when the cordless house phone rings .The internet light on the router flashes orange all the time the phone is engaged and is still flashing for at least 60 seconds after the phone as been put down and this seems to make the browser hang for a minute or so...thanks in advance.

You have a fault somewhere, it's nothing to do with the wireless as such.
Basically a phone call is causing the internet to drop due to interference (on the wires) of some sort.
The "wireless" DECT phones you mention are particularly good at this.
Try a different filter or putting 2 filters in series to the phone (double-filtering) and report back.

Sky boxes are another device that can benefit from double-filtering.

funny enough a DECT causing loss of sync through one filter isn't one I've come accross so far. DECT next to a router or dsl cable yes.  :shrug2:

faxes, answer machines, alarms, fuel or sewage tank remote senders and surge protectors(last one probably due to taking a big surge before) cured by double filtering yes.
