Hi hobyist and welcome,

The frst thing to do is to apply a paperclip to the reset hole (or perhaps a reset button) and leave it pushed in for about 30 seconds.

Then you will need to enter your ISP's technical details.

Kind regards,
Walter

Can I just clarify -
Did this router come set up for tiscali - or has it simply just been used on a tiscali connection.

If you open the router via the web interface  http://192.168.1.254  does the actual pages show any tiscali branding and logos - or does it look like standard TG firmware.

First try the factory reset method as mentioned by walter.

Something else to remember about karoo... it has  different VCI settings to elsewhere in the UK and uses LCCBased rather than VCMux.
These settings will need to be changed too when configuring the router...  you should do this before putting in your username and passy.

If the web interface is branded with tiscali then its possible that its 'locked to tiscali'...  however you should still be able to roll it back by flashing with standard TG585v7 firmware.

I used to have an SE587 router pre-configured by Tiscali, even had a T logo on it.
No problems changing settings to work with other suppliers, it certainly worked with both PlusNet (ADSL-Max)and Be ADSL2+.
(since given it away to a current Tiscali user so can't check details, but I recall it had various "profiles" to play with)

I didn't flash mine, it had enough configuration options besides the default.
