Well, actually, when I asked the lady of the house if her man was any good at wiring, she said no but she was much better at that sort of thing   ;D - so I offered her the use of my IDC tool and advice on where to buy the cable and faceplate.

It takes a truly generous man to lend his IDC tool to a friend. :D

>> Can anyone advise as to the best approach  to BT to get them to change it without going through their off-shore help centre

Well i was going to ask that aswell as every time i've spoken to someone they are of asian origin, and with me being Scottish they find it hard to understand me (no jokes please). I always thought BT Broadband were based in the Scottish highlands at Tain. I think when i'm going to ask them to do some settings to the DLM i think i'll just e-mail them.

heh - I dont think ive got "any" accent, (of course I have really- but its not strong"), but after after events Ive had with Indian call centers, they dont really inspire me with confidence. :(
I can imagine the problem they must have with some of the UK accents such as Geordie, or Scouse :/

unfortunatly whatever dept you ring for this problem, they will direct you to the indian call centre for you to endure their technical scripts.  then they will tell you its a wiring problem and to book a house visit (i find it strange that their scripts always end with the same conclusion ... hmmmm)

emailing them is more than useless, i found out after 30 + emails about my problem (wont bore you  ???), in the end they wouldnt even reply to me.

good luck  :(
