First Week Without Interleaving :)
« on: April 25, 2009, 08:56:28 PM »

Well after much messin around fixing wiring, getting new routers, filtered faceplates etc.. I had interleaving turned off.. I was still a little concerned as I had a fair few RSCorrected Errors, so wasnt sure how bad things would be.

In all honesty I think the interleaving was fixing things that aparently had no real problem, as Ive left the router synced for just under 9 days now and stats are..

I never really get any big bursts of errors, looking at the CRC graphs etc.. in Routerstats, Its just 1 or 2 every now - and - then.

So far everything looks good.. I've still got some strange REIN related issues I think which causes the SNRM to suddenly drop by 3-4dB just like someones flicked a switch, but as yet have been unable to track it down.. (Its not causing errors / resyncs anyway, so not much of an issue right now, although could be for ADSL2+)

*Edit* Not sure why "Total Time" only says 1days 23hours.. Both the status page for the router and Routerstats says almost nine days (215hours, 30mins or so)

Looking good :)

In theory it should NOT work like that....

... but I do know of another line that did similar.  The attenuation was higher than yours, but on the whole it performed quite nicely with interleaving off at 8128 with only the occasional drop out to a lower sync.
However when interleaving was on on the line, things started to go downhill and for some reason the line performed much worse if interleaving was applied.

Then obviously every so often the DLM would kick in and slow things down even further down to about 5-6Mb
Azzaka may remember it, because it one of the set of stats discussed with Zen when they were looking into the AR7 issue.  Another point about that line, without a doubt it performs better with a broadcom based router.

Its a Router reporting error never goes above 1day 23hrs59min59 sec. . The total time is the LAN time . in Routerstats you see it on the Routerstats page Or on the telnet summary its

shown as
Total Up Times (From SF counts):       1Sf every 17 ms
 WAN:   2 days, 08:19:58
 LAN:   24 days, 12:11:46

Thought that might have been something like that :)

Both WAN and LAN uptimes are the same, so no dropouts or resyncs, things are looking good  :)
