Plusnet Routers
« on: April 13, 2009, 10:33:24 AM »

Hi,

I've been looking on the Plusnet site and see you have an option of either a wireless or wired router when you sign up.

I see the wireless router supplied is the Thomson 585v7 (plusnet badged) ,but I can't see what the wired router is.

At present I don't need a wireless connection but my next PC might be a laptop so would It be worth getting the wireless option if and when I sign up.

Has anyone got any comments about this particular router.

A reply by a Plusnet rep on the plusnet Community Forum on 27 Feb this year said that on Plusnet Value the wired router was a 1 port router (Speedtouch ST516) and and the wireless router was a Thomson TG585 with 4 ports.

Why not go for the wireless router (as it's free) and use it only as a wired router until you need a wireless facility in the future and then you could reset it accordingly? ;)

Thanks Jazz, that seems the logical thing to do.  :)
