I'm so pleased that I made the effort to walk to the cathedral this morning while in Derby again.
It's not far from Derby city center, I walked down Amen Alley at the side of the cathedral (you can just see a bit of it in the photo by 'scottiesmum ' above ) from there I spotted one parent on the rainwater spout above the nest box.

I then walked across Full st. to the cathedral green at the back of the cathedral and there was a man and woman with a telescope set up and they let me have a look at the bird I spotted on the spout and then I had a look at the chicks in the nest box.

I could only stop for 10 mins. and this one parent flew off

, but 5 mins later there was such a din above us, it was both parents letting the chicks know that lunch was being delivered, they both landed on the nest box and one was on guard and the other fed the chicks.

Both the chicks and the parents are a lot bigger then I thought.
