Hi all

could do with some help ive downloaded dmt tool but im having problems connecting its saying theres a problem with the port number ive tried port 23,25 and 80 but still cant connect

please help

Sorry probably not much help, but just on the off-chance, have you checked your Firewall?
I know it probably sounds obvious but........

What's DMT?

Also just in-case (Bareing in mind I don't know what DMT tool is)
Can you by-pass the router and try it?

I use a DG834GT, and DMT works fine with port 23. I'm using the unofficial UberGT firmware, but DMT also worked with the default firmware. OldFogy's suggestion about the firewall could be relevant.

To OldFogy: DMT is a program which allows you to view and modify the connection parameters of the router. It's commonly used to tweak the target noise margin to get either greater speed or greater stability.

Ive checked firewall and everything is allowed

when it trys to connect it says there is no server running or wont answer on the given port?

any ideas

One thing occurs: you need to check the option 'Special logon' if you haven't already. This assumes that you're using the official firmware. With the UberGT firmware you have to uncheck this option.

I'm afraid I'm running out of ideas. I assume that you can access the web interface of the router from the same PC, and that you're entering the IP address of the router correctly in DMT? (Sorry for the granny egg-sucking question.)

Can you telnet into the router from a command line window?

Not sure if you've seen this already but theres a tutorial for v8 of DMT up on my site.
It was aimed at the Voyager 2100 but the same version of DMT also works with the DG834Gt
