Split type NTE5 master socket
« on: March 16, 2009, 01:53:25 PM »

Hi.

Could somebody have a look at the results of my experiments with BT socket connections
and the effect these have had on my ADSL2+ connection. Would the fitting of an I-Plate give
me as good a connection as the test socket appears to. With and without face plate of socket
in place seems to make a lot of difference to connection. Bell wires are taped up separately and
pushed out of the way.  (results attached)

Thanks.

Connecting to the test socket is always going to be the best situation, because it totally disconnects all internal wiring. An i-Plate will give very similar results to connecting via the faceplate with the bell wires removed. A better solution in most cases would be to use a filtered faceplate.
