Holding down the Ctrl key whilst moving the mouse wheel will zoom in and out in browsers, and many applications also.

Glad it's all sorted anyhow :) I couldn't see the size of the text from the first screenshot, as soon as I saw the second one I thought "ahh" but kitz had already beaten me to it! :)

Thanks Kitz. I don't know how it happened but you got it in one!

It can occur if you hit the CTRL button whilst using/holding down the scroll button on your mouse.
Ive accidentally done it myself before now :/

Glad its sorted :)

One of my installed add-ons is Image Zoom which allows zooming with the scroll wheel and the RH mouse button. I reckon I must have accidentally touched the Ctrl key whilst using this zoom facility or I suppose any other use of the scroll wheel, as you say Kitz. I'll be more careful next time. Browsers can probably have too many options!

Crikey, I never knew that.  It's downright useful, too, once you know about it.

I suspect it also explains a lot of the unprintable language that may occasionally have echoed through my house when I've done it by accident.

Thanks.

You're welcome :)

Like you say, once you know about it, it's great... but I'm sure we've all at some point done it by mistake without knowing or realising what we've just done, or even worse, how to put it back to how it was!

By the way, I've moved this topic into a more appropriate forum :)
