How to Automatically Add "Scanned with Avast Antivirus" in a email
Avast Pro version

Would you like to let people know that your email has been scanned with a Antivirus program before being sent?
Also to be able to see mail that you receive has been checked with your Antivirus program?
Well now you can.

Avast silently scans Inbound and Outbound e-mails automatically, but it can also add certification text at the bottom of the email if you tick the appropriate boxes.

1. Left click the Avast 'a' icon in the notification area. (Next to the clock)
2. From the open window you "may" need to select "Details.. >>" (next to the OK button)
3. Select/highlight the "Internet Mail" icon on the left-hand side.
4. Click on "Customize..."
5. Under both the POP and SMTP tabs, tick "Insert note into clean message" followed by OK and OK again to finish.
6. If you want to alter the default text, then select the "Format of the notes..." option in both the POP and SMTP options (recommended for experienced people only)

Sample of both "Inbound and Outbound "Standard default" message.

Nice one, I do use Avast, but tend not  to play too much with its settings, especially the mail ones as it took me ages to set up google mail to dowload into Outlook Express.

Yes Google mail can be awkward unless you also set the "This server requires a secure connection (SSL"
Found under "Accounts > Properties > Advanced"

Or at least that is what worked for me.

edit.
That should have been the account setup for Google.
(Not necessarily any other account) my VM account does not need it.
