DSL-2740B & DMT Tool
« on: January 30, 2009, 03:59:57 PM »

Hi

A simple and quick question which no amount of Googling has been able to answer but I suspect that the Kitz fraternity probably will know!

When using DMT Tool with the DSL-2740b is it possible to save the reduced SNR config or is it lost when / if the router reboots??

Thanks

I thought it was normal behaviour of any router with DMT that the changes were only effective during that router session, i.e. lost on a reboot.
For a permanent override you would need revised firmware such as DGTeam etc. provide for some Netgear models.

I own a DSL-2740B and unfortunately it does loose snr settings after a reboot as HP Sauce said.

Thanks for the responses and pity about the DSL-2740b - my recollection is that some routers do hold the change - the DG834GT with the DGTeam firmware definately does.
