Once possibly, but doubt it very much if I did it twice on the same night.
But what is the answer to plugging a phone into a socket without a filter please........ even, pretty please.
Nothing to technical though.

(Good job this spell checker works) time for bed I think.

Depends if a modem/router is also plugged in as well.   If its just the phone then its ok. 
The splitter is there to separate 2 different frequencies.
However if a phone and router on on the line then the adsl data will cause interference on the phone which may well be clearly audible.
It will also likely cause problems with the adsl connection.. speed could be quite a bit slower, there could be noise on the adsl line.. which can materialise as lower SNR, data errors, and even loss of sync.
